Students
are rewarded using 2 systems, Tickets and Kaminski
Dollars.
Red
tickets are awarded and placed in a red jar when the class,
as a whole, is given a compliment or when they are productive
and follow directions for an extended period of time. As
soon as they have been awarded 50 tickets, they will be
given a classroom celebration. This may be a special snack,
a "mini-party", a game of their choice
etc.
Together they set a goal of earning 2 classroom celebrations
over the next 9 months!!
Blue
tickets are given out, individually, to those students who
do something extra special. For example, helping someone
who has dropped his or her books, being extra courteous
to a peer or adult, caught working extra hard on free time
etc.
I feel this is good incentive to be responsible and respectful
young adults. When a student earns a blue ticket, they take
one and put their number on the back and add it to the jar.
On Friday afternoon I pull a ticket from the jar and that
student is given the title of Student
of the Week for the following week.
