These dollars are a Mrs. K original!! I feel that it is extremely important for students to try their best in all that they do and this is my way of rewarding their efforts. Children receive a Kaminski Dollar on quizzes and tests only. In an effort to improve, students should work extra hard by doing one or more of the following:
Getting a grade that is better than their last in that subject area
Studying during free time
Attending study group when needed
Showing an effort during class discussion and written response
Students are assured that they do not have to get an "A" to get a dollar. This reward is for those who try hard. A student who is putting in the effort may get a "C" and still get a Kaminski Dollar.

Every 2 weeks, on a Friday, I open the Kaminski Store (toys, erasers, pencils, notepads, silly putty...etc) and it is here that students can spend their dollars, or choose to save them in the bank. The bank is a folder where the students keep the dollars they receive. When the store is open, the class banker gives them their money and they can choose to spend it however they wish.
